Totally Spies! live action series is in development at Amazon MGM Studios

The cult animated series is being bought to life in live action format for the first time ever, with Will Ferrell's Gloria Sanchez Productions leading development.

Banijay Kids & Family, a global leader in children’s entertainment, behind hit shows such as Mr Bean: The Animated Series, is thrilled to announce that a live action adaptation of Totally Spies! targeting young adults is in development, with Amazon MGM Studios and Will Ferrell’s Gloria Sanchez Productions.

Totally Spies! live action version will be an adaptation of Banijay Kids & Family’s hit animated series of the same title, following stylish best friends Clover, Alex and Sam as they navigate saving the world as international spies, while they try to survive the ups and downs of first year college life. 

The series will be executive produced by Will Ferrell, Jessica Elbaum and Alix Taylor for Gloria Sanchez Productions, and Benoit di Sabatino for Banijay Kids & Family, in partnership with Amazon MGM Studios.
Totally Spies! is a huge success for Banijay Kids & Family, having been translated in 60 languages and sold to more than 220 territories. With a social media base of 3 million, the series continues to thrive in its animation form with the recently launched 7th season. Rola Bauer approached me for a live action adaptation, and we were thrilled to partner with Amazon MGM Studios. With her, Ludovic Attal, and Punit Matoo’s support, we are honoured to join such a stronghold of female-focused producers in Gloria Sanchez Productions to produce for Prime Video.

This news follows the successful launch of the brand-new animated Season 7 in France on Gulli, with Warner Bros Discovery EMEA, USA and LATAM set to launch soon, and recent announcement of Season 8 commission.
