Strategic collaboration to shape next-generation, creator-first animation tools
Banijay Kids & Family, a global leader in children’s entertainment, today announces a strategic research and development collaboration with Toon Boom Animation, the world’s leading animation software company, whose tools power productions across the globe while driving the development and practical integration of AI in animation production. By combining their complementary strengths in technical innovation and production, the duo will co-develop tools to advance Toon Boom’s Harmony and Storyboard Pro software.
Toon Boom Animation will provide Banijay Kids & Family early access to new AI beta functionalities and increased visibility into its long-term product roadmap during the partnership. In parallel, Banijay Kids & Family will contribute a diverse range of production content to rigorously test and validate these tools in real studio conditions. Its network of talent will provide continuous, hands-on feedback, ensuring new features are both practical and aligned with the needs of creators.
The agreement is underpinned by strict ethical and operational guardrails to ensure full protection for creators and intellectual property. Banijay Kids & Family content will not be used to train Toon Boom’s AI models, and materials are strictly limited to testing and validation purposes, handled within a fully segregated and secure environment.
