Banijay Kids & Family appoints Middle East agent for the classic children’s brand

Banijay Kids & Family, a global leader in children’s entertainment, behind hit shows such as Totally Spies! and Mr Bean: The Animated Series, today announces Spacetoon Licensing will represent the brand licensing and live shows for Topo Gigio in the Middle East.

Banijay Kids & Family is the worldwide distributor for the brand, across audio-visual, digital, publishing, licensing and merchandising. Originally created by Italian puppet artist Maria Perego in 1959, Topo Gigio has more recently been reimagined as a pre-school cartoon comedy series co-produced by Movimenti Production (a Banijay Kids & Family company) and Topo Gigio S.r.l. Two seasons of the 2D animation have been produced, following the daily adventures of Topo Gigio, the first mouse to ever live amongst humans, as he strives to solve any problems in the city of Townville, alongside his human and animal friends.

From its debut 65 years ago, to the current animated series, Topo Gigio has a wide, cross-generational fanbase, with huge commercial potential. It has strong brand affinity, and with the expertise of Spacetoon Licensing we look forward to broadening the licensing programme of the brand, in the Middle East and engaging consumers through exciting live shows, which are increasingly in demand.
